Germany - Bosch's Praesideo system is world's first fully digital public address and emergency sound system and was developed for the purpose of broadcasting information and entertainment, and also for voice evacuation in emergency situations. It offers flexibility with system configuration, it's simple to install and offers high audio quality, say Bosch.

Praesideo Version 3.0 has recently achieved a number of certificates and accreditations. It is the first product in the market to receive full certification by the TUV organisation for IEC60849 and BS5839-8. Also, after much hard work by Bosch in Germany, and the development team in Breda, it has received the certificate from Eisenbahn Bundesamt, which is a requirement for Deutsche Bundesbahn projects and Bosch has now had its first order. Part of the criteria for this certification is to be EN50121-4 compliant - which is achie

UK - In partnership with Philips, the inventor and global market leader on UHP projection lamp technology, Just Lamps is launching the Diamond Lamps series. The two new offerings under the Diamond Lamps banner have been developed to address lamp supply issues arising from a number of projector manufacturers either leaving the market or rationalising spares holdings, and to provide an ethical alternative to copy lamps.

Diamond Lamps are newly manufactured lamp modules designed to fit a range of historic Philips projector models, each utilising a Philips UHP lamp identical to that originally supplied in the projector. Diamond Re-Lamps are lamp modules created by removing the lamps from existing lamp modules, professionally refurbishing the housings and then re-fitting them with Philips UHP lamps identical to the originals.

Each lamp is a vital electrical component of a projector

UK - As the sole UK dealer for Zaxcom RF Products in the UK, audio specialist Orbital is putting its Zaxcom products forward as a potential counter to the threat posed to the entertainment industry's use of RF spectrum by Ofcom's planned auctioning of the channels currently used under license.

"This presents two immediate problems," say Orbital, "the first being that under the current proposals there will be far fewer frequencies left for the theatre industry to operate in and the second being that there may be many new high power carriers like Mobile TV used in the frequencies that are to be auctioned off, that have the potential to create considerable interference spilling into previously available frequency bands such as Channel 69."

Recognising the serious implications of these proposals, Orbital is keen to provide a solution to what could otherwise thr

UK - Soundcraft's release of the Processing Card for the Soundcraft Vi6 adds "powerful industry-standard Lexicon effects and BSS Audio equalisation to this exceptional digital console", the company says. The card uses eight custom Lexicon DSP engines to provide eight mono or stereo effects units which may be patched to aux bus outputs and then back into a channel input, or inserted into input or output channels. The real flexibility comes from having control of these effects on the Vistonics II graphical screens so giving the engineer a comfortable and simple user interface, for which the Soundcraft Vi6 has already been highly praised.

The Lexicon devices give a choice of 14 types of reverb, including various plates, halls and spring types, seven delay settings (for example ping-pong and tape delays) plus eight other effects such as Chorus, Flanger, Tremelo and Pitch s

UK - Rosco will be introducing the X factor to the annual Architectural, Retail & Corporate Lighting (ARC) trade show this year 12-13 February, Business Design Centre, London). The X-Effects large-scale 3D image projector provides large scale 3D effects previously unavailable to lighting designers. Utilising a 200W Enhanced Metal Arc source, whose short arc allows for an output of 5,000 lumens and a 7,000-hour lamp life, the colour temperature is similar to a Xenon source at 6000°K but with nearly twice the luminous effectiveness of a halogen source.

The effect is created by rotating two X-size glass gobos off centre of the optical path; this results in a projection that does not appear to have a visible direction or pattern, say Rosco. The colour slot will accept dichroic colour filters and the projector includes onboard potentiometers to control the speed and direction of

USA - Elektralite, manufacturers of entertainment lighting fixtures and controllers, haveannounced the launch of PaintSpot, an affordable color changing spot fixture, to compliment the extremely popular PaintCan flood released last year. By using the same lamp types as its wide angle brother (either the economical GLA or GLC 3200K) and utilising a 24° beam angle and six colour wheel (plus white), users have plenty of "light muscle" available to punch through the strongest colour washes, even in haze or fog, say Elektralite.

With two gobo wheels - one rotating and indexable, the other fixed - a myriad of dynamic effects can be created and played upon the chosen subject. And being interchangeable, gobos can be switched around or substituted with others from the large Elektralite collection. Other features include full electronic focussing, an iris and strobe facility

XONE:S2 has amultitude of features designed to integrate it into a typical PA system. Oneof the key features is an output limiter system that enables the engineer topreset the maximum output level of the mixer, irrespective of input level.

The main mix outputs are on balanced XLR, and an additional mono output, also on XLR, can be used as a zone feed or can be used to feed a sub-bassstack. A dedicated alarm input mutes all music channels when active andthere is also a dedicated al

Germany - At the forthcoming ProLight&Sound exhibition (Frankfurt, 28-31 March), Axxent will introduce its new constant voltage audio amplifier with 2 x 500W of continuous power in a constant voltage line of 100V.
