Panic! At The Disco is gearing up for a co-headlining summer tour with Weezer.
USA - Panic! at the Disco wrapped their spring tour with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. The American pop/rock band known for their clever lyrics and distinctive sound released their fifth studio album Death of a Bachelor earlier this year, and is gearing up for a co-headlining summer tour with Weezer.

Lighting designer Alex Specht of Spechtrum Lighting created a multi-layered look using a floor package that symmetrically parted a centre drum riser with Martin MAC Vipers and Chauvet RH1 Rogues along the deck, road cases and four 6ft truss towers with alternately hung Chauvet Nexus 4x4s and Atomic Strobes.

"When travelling with only a floor package, I like to make sure I have all of the elements to create various layers," said Specht. By layering spot fixtures for colour saturation and gobo effects, beam fixtures to cut through with sharp aerial effects, LED pixel array for color washing and eye candy, and a set of strobes to elevate the attack and raise the excitement, he fills the space with sensational visuals.

"I love Martin's CMY colours," said Specht of his fixture choices. "The magenta is saturated enough to create the missing spectrum of purples that are not found in other brands. The Nexus 4x4 provides a great continuity to the overall look as a backdrop or an effect piece, and I love the boldness of the attack and the beam angle on an Atomic, a lot of power for an affordable price."

What follows is a plethora of looks ranging from dramatically dark and silhouetted to rich and brightly saturated. "Aligning the fixtures along the upstage edge helps create a depth that can use a minimal amount of fixtures and execute an immense looking stage show," Specht said.
