Over 280 technicians were trained during the 2016 Festival Fringe, from around 130 performance spaces all running Zero 88 consoles. Products included the new FLX, Solution, Jester and even the Fat Frogs which have been running Festival Fringe venues since the turn of the millennium.

USA - Christmas concerts are a highlight on the calendars of many churches. However, although they're exciting, these events often involve elaborate stage productions and appearances by guest artists, both of which can create new sets of challenges for a church's tech team.

Chauvet Professional is addressing this issue at an upcoming WFX Conference panel session that looks at Christmas concert lighting from two different perspectives: the lighting designer's and the technical director's. Taking place at demo room SWC102 at the Kentucky Exposition Centre from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on Wednesday 21 September, the session will feature lighting designers Andy Rushing and Craig Rutherford, along with Bobby Dennis, technical director of The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas, outside Dallas.

UK - Many House of Worship audio installations are in existing buildings, adding sound reinforcement for the first time or replacing a life expired system. But occasionally the opportunity arises to design an audio system as an integral part of a new-build. RG Jones Sound Engineering recently did this for a brand new mosque in Leicester, choosing a complete Yamaha solution.

Baitul Ikram Mosque is the new home for the Ahmadiyya Muslim community (AMA) in the UK East Midlands. The new mosque needed a distributed audio/visual system for a complex that includes a main prayer hall, multipurpose hall, meeting room, office, cr

USA - Nestled amid the towering peaks of the front range in Estes Park, Colorado and surrounded on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park, the YMCA of the Rockies is as beautiful a place to have a conference, reunion, or getaway as one can find this side of the Pearly Gates.

And those conferences, reunions, or getaways need not be small by any stretch; the sprawling grounds include 900 lodging rooms and nearly 60 meeting rooms, including the 600-plus-seat Walter G. USA - Although it has locations across the US, the Red Lion Hotel chain isn't ranked among the giants of the hospitality industry. The Spokane-based chain is, however, second to none when it comes to customer service. This much is evident from the many accolades the chain has won, including multiple Number 1 ratings for customer satisfaction in the prestigious Metrix Hospitality Index.

Since good service depends on motivated employees, Red Lion is also focused on recognizing its team members. This year, the chain's employee appreciation efforts were given a big boost by a giant video wall created by AMP'D Entertainment using PVP X6IP tiles from Chauvet Professional.

Justin Haas of AMP'D used the 6.9m pixel pitch panels to build a 35' long and 7.5' high wall behind the stage at Red Lion's President's Award Ceremony, an annual event recognizing team members for their achieve

UK - Hoist UK has recently designed, supplied, installed & commissioned a bespoke overhead crane system at a large manufacturing plant in the North West.

A simple task one would have thought for one of the country's leading suppliers and installers of industrial lifting equipment until the client explains that the facility is already finished, jam packed with machinery, ducting and conveyor equipment and in full production. The area is also in a highly sensitive / secretive production facility that also requires a heightened state of cleanliness throughout installation and during use. And the installation has to be completed within a very tight schedule so as not to disrupt production, then the simple just became a little more difficult.

No stranger to the extraordinary (one look at their website will confirm this), the Hoist UK team set about a design that would weave its
