Belgium - Nowadays it is tough for small hire companies to survive. This was one of the reasons why a few Belgium hire companies decided to consolidate their know how and stock, to continue as the ASL-Group. Jointly the ASL-Group now operates 100 SP-10 line-array systems.

The new ASL-Group comprises the Belgium hire companies ASL Audio, Jacobs Elektro - Coruna, The System and Klinkers Electro. Peter Ellegeest (MD of ASL): "We have worked with Sound Projects products ever since the beginning. Because of the growing customer demand for line-arrays and moreover, since in certain circumstances an array simply is the best or easiest solution, we were in search of an array. A system that should match our present SP3 concert-systems.

"The first test we did with SP-10 was an outdoor festival where we used 24 boxes. Already at the first notes during the sound check the distinct and smooth high frequency reproduction was noticeable, even with the first factory settings (which were meant for SP 20 and Linex). After a few minutes tweaking Bruno Jacobs (Coruna) was sure he wanted this system. The rest (incl. myself) waited a little longer to make the decision. The more we worked with SP-10 the more positive aspects we encounter. And we are constantly impressed by the possibilities of sound en coverage of such a relative small system. What strikes me is that despite the compact size of the SP10, it is capable of more than many comparable large systems. And these are often too heavy to fly."

ASL regularly works free-lance for other hire companies and consequently has experience with almost any other brand and system; line-arrays as well as the classic systems.

"We feel that there is just no competitor for SP-10, except maybe Linex. This does not only go for the sound quality but also for the incredible easy handling. I have not yet seen a system that flies as quickly as SP-10. A reaction of a stage director: what?... all set already?... Don't you need the stage hands then?!"

Recently the new rigging hardware for SP-10 is available. The ASL-Group has already updated their stock and has just received their last 34 SP-10 systems, to complete their 100 systems.
