UK - The Inception Group has opened two new venues in London recently, providing an eye-catching showcase for Nexo’s super-compact ID Series loudspeakers.
The Inception Group has set a high audio standard for its Mr Foggs bars, of which there are now five in the collection. The AV design company Diamond AV has been entrusted with creating signature sound systems, configuring Nexo sound reinforcement elements to achieve different characteristics for the venues.
The two newest venues are Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals, and Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration, both located in central London, radically different to each other in terms of interior design and target usage.

Germany - Every year on the first weekend in August, tens of thousands of EDM fans converge on the former missile base of Pydna in central Germany for Nature One, one of Europe’s most diverse and popular festivals. This year, around 54,000 people came together to party on 23 “floors” along with 350 DJs and live acts.
Thomas Gerdon of Gerdon design has been working Nature One since 2003 and this year discovered the benefits of using Elation’s popular weatherproof Proteus Hybrid moving head. Here We Go Again - Comedian and Great British Bake Off host Sandi Toksvig will adapt the story for the Mamma Mia! spin-off show when it opens at the O2 in London next August. The writer and broadcaster will adapt Calle Norlen, Roine Soderlundh and Bjorn Ulvaeus’ original story into English for the immersive theatrical and dining experience, Mamma Mia! The Party.
Set in a Greek taverna, Mamma Mia! The Party will take place in a venue within the O2. It will seat 500 audience members, who will experience the show alongside a Mediterranean meal. The show has been created by Abba’s Ulvaeus, with producer Ingrid Sutej, and features music and lyrics by Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. It will be directed by Soderlundh, with set by Bengt Froderberg, costumes by Annsofi Nyberg, lighting by Patrick Woodroffe and sound by Gareth Owen.

Switzerland - Audio over IP pioneer Barix thas announced that the company has promoted Reto Brader to CEO, following a successful tenure as vice president of sales and marketing. The change in company leadership correlates with the availability of new products that Barix introduced in 2018, including its award-winning RetailPlayer platform for background music distribution.
The remaining Barix management team, which has worked together effectively for the past several years, will continue in their established roles with full support from Brader. This includes company founder Johannes Rietschel as CTO, Joan Parrilla as VP Engineering, and Mario Almeida as VP Production.
Before joining Barix, Brader held key business and technical roles at Hewlett Packard, Pixelmetrix, Utah Scientific and Alcatel. He has a degree in Electronical Engineering and an MBA.

Germany - Late last year, with the announcement of the Route66 Redundancy Manager, German network fibre giant BroaMan introduced the capability of full automatic redundancy switchover between devices, by harnessing the power of Optocore. This would enable switching between Route66 Video Router and Mux22 nodes - using smart mechanism to detect when one of the fiber links between the nodes is broken.
Now the same technology has been enabled in a very popular point-to-point system - between a pair of Mux22 devices. Mux22, which combines 3G SDI I/O and video sync, with Optocore and SANE digital audio networks, now also features full automatic redundancy. Thus, should one of the links fail, the system would automatically switch to the redundant path, enabling all video, audio and data channels to remain working. South Korea - Bethel Church in IllSan has invested in a new SSL L500 Plus live console and SSL stageboxes for FOH duties. The system was supplied and installed by South Korean SSL distributor HANSEO Broadcast & Music Tech Inc.
Bethel Christian Church has two chapels, one in Ilsan and one in Paju, NorthWest Seoul. The Bethel Church Pastor travels between the two, delivering a sermon from one, which is transmitted live to the other. Daily attendance at the Church is 8,000 - 10,000 people, with six services on a Sunday and a total congregation of around 20,000 people.
The input channel count on a typical service at Bethel Church is 64, with drum kit, bass, two guitars, keyboards, piano, orchestra, choir, soloist, and Pastor from stage. Taiwan - Quanta Art Foundation has recently installed two Robert Juliat Cyrano 2500W HMI follow spots into the Quanta Hall at Hwaya Technology Park in Guishan Township, in Taoyuan County, Taiwan.
Personally designed by Quanta Computer chairman Barry Lam and built by Taiwan master architect Kris Yao, Quanta Hall embodies a blend of technology and art; its creation was based on the “Trans-Art concepts” promoted by the Quanta Art Foundation.
Adorned with simplistic yet elegant Chinese carved wood seals, Quanta Hall has served as a medium-sized theatre and multi-functional exhibition centre since its opening on 21 April 2009. The 1,000sq.m hall with 576 burnt sienna seats is used as a venue for a wide array of performing arts through the year.

Providing powerful visual support for the Grammy-nominated singer/musician’s show in Madrid is a dramatic lighting design by Chus Fernandez that features Chauvet Professional Nexus Aq 5x5 pixel mapped panels supplied by Fluge.
Working in close collaboration with Salvador Moreno on the design of the stage space, Fernandez specified 64 of the RGBW Nexus panels to use as the centerpiece of his lightshow.
