Listen Up! Diagnosing Sound System Problems With Our Ears
The most powerful sound analyser yet invented does not match the power of our ears and brain to identify and quantify sound. Many sound system problems can be identified and often resolved without the need for instrumentation -- just a set of ears and a knowledge of how to use them. The aim of the seminar, which will be packed with live demonstrations and audio examples, is to let the audience listen to and see how a sound system should sound and respond and then demonstrate, using both standard test equipment and live audio output, what happens when a system is not performing optimally and has underlying faults or incorrect settings.
