Denmark - Commercial television station TV2 is using d:screet 4080 cardioid lavalier microphones to live transmit a series of highly unusual live political interviews for its 24-hour news channel.

The interviews are all conducted inside a Tesla electric sports car, which was first deployed by TV2 during the country's recent election campaign. This highly innovative and usual mobile studio is entirely unmanned by TV2's technical staff and is operated remotely from the broadcaster's studios in Copenhagen.

Bandit honours staff at AGM

USA - 2016 has only barely begun and Bandit Lites has already gathered at the Annual General Meeting to celebrate the previous award-winning year, while those in attendance discussed future company goals.

In January 2015 Bandit won the Pollstar Lighting Company of the Year Award, followed by the equally prestigious Parnelli Award for Lighting Company of the Year in November.

Bandit honoured many people this year starting with long time Bandit Brent Barrett, who has had a remarkable tenure with Bandit since the founding of the company. Brent, a steady fixture in Bandit's illustrious history, initially joined in 1977 while in college with founder Michael T. Strickland at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

UK - When India's Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, visited the UK in late 2015, PRG XL Video were asked to supply lighting, video and rigging for a special celebration event at London's Wembley Stadium.

The show combined the best of British and Indian culture and included dancing displays, musical performances, and speeches from both Modi and UK PM David Cameron.

To compliment the festivities, a team from PRG XL Video, working with production stage manager, Trish McGlenaghan, lighting & production designer, Mark Cunniffe, and production manager, Tim Hudson, specified all the lighting, rigging and video technology and expertise to ensure the production was a success.

Audinate ramps up Dante training at ISE

The Netherlands - Audinate, creator of the Dante media networking technology, and many leading audio equipment manufacturers, will be hosting the annual Dante AV Networking World education event during Integrated Systems Europe 2016 on Monday, 8 February 2016. The workshop and seminar programme will be held at the Amsterdam Holiday Inn near the RAI Convention Centre.

Major players join Alliance for IP Media Solutions

USA - Arista Networks, Cisco Systems Inc., EVS Broadcast Equipment SA and The Telos Alliance have all joined AIMS (the Alliance for IP Media Solutions), the alliance of broadcast and media industry suppliers, formed to promote open standards and interoperability in the transition to IP.

These four companies, respectively world-leaders in software-driven cloud networking solutions, IT, live outside-broadcast digital video production systems and broadcast audio technologies, join founding member companies, Grass Valley, Imagine Communications, Lawo, Nevion and Snell Advanced Media in the newly formed independent trade association. The alliance was formed last month with a mandate to bring IP solutions to market that offer complete interoperability, are based on open standards, and integrate seamlessly into media workflow environments to foster industry innovation and efficiency.<
