Stage Sound Services boosts EM inventory

UK - Stage Sound Services in Cardiff, South Wales, is now one of the UK's busiest rental and production services hire companies to the theatre market. With an enormous number of prestigious projects already to their name, both in the UK and abroad, including the likes of Journey's End (two tours and two West End runs), sound and lighting for the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium, plus video for both Warhorse and the Wizard of Oz to name but a very few, SSS is constantly having to increase inventory levels in order to be able to satisfy demand. The latest round of investment comprised another thirty EMS-61 small format, full range passive loudspeakers from UK loudspeaker manufacturer EM Acoustics.

This latest purchase brings SSS's EM Acoustics inventory up to an impressive 359 cabinets in all, 139 of which are now EMS-61s. According to Stage Sound Services owner and MD Phil Hurley, the EMS-61 is an ideal product for the theatre market. "The quality of all EM Acoustics' products is exceptional, and the fact that you can plug them into any standard linear amplifier and a generic processor makes them a more cost-efficient option than some other brands whose products require dedicated amps and processing. Furthermore, EM Acoustics speakers are so well engineered that you can plug them into just about anything and still know that they will sound good! It makes them exceedingly versatile."

"Concerning the EMS-61s in particular, their size, power and audio quality make them particularly well suited to theatre applications compared to other brands," continued Hurley. "I've been using EM Acoustics products for a long time now, and they are now starting to be specified more and more frequently for theatre and corporate work, hence my continued investment in the brand. In fact, I now own more loudspeakers from EM Acoustics than from any other manufacturer. EM Acoustics loudspeakers can currently be found on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in Kensington Square, London; Mr Man at the National Theatre in London; the third annual tour of the CBeebies "In The Night Garden," which plays to 500 children from three to five times per day and a system of EMS-51s and i-8 subs has just gone out to the Cannes Film Festival for a private event.
