China - Robert Juliat has supplied a large number of Cyrano 2500W HMI followspots to two of China's most popular theme park resorts.
OCT's Happy Valley theme parks pride themselves on their spectacular live entertainment which, fusing song, dance, lights, pyrotechnics, split stages and the very latest in special effects, draw on various aspects of Chinese culture and are immensely popular with the large audiences that attend. Daily performances take place at each of the 10 Happy Valley parks across the country within giant purpose-built theatres.
Happy Valley Shenzhen, the site of the first Happy Valley theme park, is now 12 years old and recently took delivery of 12 Robert Juliat Cyrano 2500W HMI followspots which have proved the ideal products for the large venue.
The latest OCT theme park, Happy Valley Chengdu in Sichuan province, the opening of which was delayed by an earthquake in 2008, finally opened in August 2009. Two additional Cyrano units have been taken for its live shows in the Tian Ji Theatre on site. The opening celebration featured the Chinese singers Sun Nan, Jane Zhang and Black Duck and lighting designed by Beijing Olympics lighting designer, Mr. Sha Xiaolan, who had also used Robert Juliat followspots - Lancelots and Cyranos - on the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games.
Live entertainment at Happy Valley Chengdu includes the shows Caribbean Pirate, Conscription and Compass, in addition to a number of special events throughout the year including celebrations for Chinese New Year, youth culture and magic.
