L-Acoustics installed at the Alexandria Library
15 October 2003
Egypt - French company EI Audiovisuel has recently completed the installation of six L-Acoustics sound systems at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the famous Egyptian library. The Great Hall, which has 1,700 seats, has been equipped with 18 dV-Dosc, 4 dV-SUB and a complement in MTD108a fills. In the five other rooms (two rooms in the Library, the Trustees Board Room, the Conference Center and the Auditorium), the L-Acoustics MTD coaxial line have been elected, using a selection of compact 8'', 12'' and 15'' speakers. All the above sound systems are powered by L-Acoustics LA amplification.
Thierry Leclair, project manager for EI Audiovisuel, comments: "The total budget for this project was of 6 millions Euros, including a new computer network and a new data processing for the Library on one side, and video, audio and lighting equipment for the Conference Center on the other side."
Paul Bauman, L-Acoustics director of technical support, adds that he was very pleased with the end results of the dV-Dosc installation in the Great Hall: "It was a pleasure working with the EI Audiovisuel team and I was highly impressed with their level of professionalism and the quality of the installation that was implemented. The dV-Dosc system performed exactly as anticipated. Therefore, this installation should serve as an important reference for L-Acoustics as we take our first steps in the Egyptian market."
