DB adds more Microsoft Surface units

UK - DB Systems (DB) reports that it has purchased approximately £100,000 of new equipment, including seamless LCD panels and 3D Pyramoid units, which are a form of 3D holographic projection.

DB has also made a further investment in Microsoft Surface units, which the company originally introduced to the UK event and exhibition market at the end of 2009. Microsoft Surface is a revolutionary multi-touch system that allows several users to simultaneously touch up to 52 points on the screen. Users can also operate a variety of programmes and features to perform numerous functions at any one time, such as maximising and minimising windows, viewing product data, as well as animation and video content.

The investment in new equipment has come as DB prepares for a busy spring calendar of events. Over the next three months, DB will be supply AV & IT services to 14 events. DB will be the official AV supplier to 11 of those events, including ITEC, which is Europe's leading event showcasing products and services for purposes of defence, training, education and simulation, and Breakbulk Europe.

David Bulley, managing director of DB Systems, said, "This latest investment demonstrates our strong financial standing and continued commitment to make the latest AV products available to our customers. We have seen a big uptake in the demand for the seamless LCD units over the seamless plasmas that we already have in stock. In fact, one of our customers has now moved over entirely to these more modern units.

"This year is gearing up to be very exciting for us. We are already experiencing growth for our DBpixelhouse division, increased demand for our environmentally friendly and cost-effective ecoXpress system, as well as the expansion in to the internet and telephony market."
