UK - The recently opened Just for One Day musical commemorates how music united the world 40 years ago in a unique event to raise awareness and funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Behind every vocal and the electrifying music that brings the spirit of Live Aid back to life is Shure Axient Digital Wireless technology.

Now playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London, the musical features hit songs by artists including Bob Dylan, David Bowie, the Who, U2, Elton John and more. Gareth Owen, sound designer for Just for One Day relied on 84 channels of Axient Digital Wireless System and PSM 1000 In Ear monitoring system, among other Shure equipment.

“The sheer volume of RF equipment on most musical theatre shows means we just need a system that works. We can’t deal with unreliable RF for a musical like this one, and Shure delivers ti

Denmark - Recognised by the Michelin Guide as one of Aarhus’s most elegant dining destinations, Gastromé has enchanted guests with its blend of modern Nordic cuisine and European flair.

In pursuit of more space to evolve their vision, co-owners William Jørgensen and Søren Jakobsen recently relocated north to a 1911 villa in the tranquil suburb of Risskov. As part of the villa’s extensive renovation, the team chose to install a Smart IP audio system from Genelec to help create the immersive, high-quality atmosphere they envisioned.

"After a long search, we have found the perfect place to spread our wings,” explains Jørgensen. “Our dream is to create a space where we take our current gastronomy as a starting point and refine the entire experience around the meal." The Gastromé team turned to specialist systems integrator Thomas Ve

Germany - Leyard Europe has successfully completed the installation of a cutting-edge LED video wall at Hochschule Ansbach (University of Applied Science). The project, completed in May 2024, equips the university's TV studio with professional-grade technology that mirrors industry standards. Hochschule Ansbach, a renowned institution offeri

Mexico - It is fitting that Conjunto Primavera was officially founded on the first day of spring, the season of fresh beginnings when all things seem possible. That was back in 1978, and in the ensuing five decades, the Grammy-winning norteño-sax band has eagerly embraced the spirit of this hopeful season, always welcoming new ideas, as they’ve expanded their genre.

Reflecting the boldness and spirit of this band on their current 47th Anniversary Tour is a sweeping lighting and video design by Arturo Sanchez Jr. that features 156 Chauvet Professional fixtures supplied by PROled.

Like the band itself, Sanchez’s design for this tour leaves familiar expectations behind to explore new ideas. In the process it has created a visual journey that takes fans to new places. This was evident at Conjunto Primavera’s 28 June show at Teatro Telmex

Europe - Acoustic instruments change. Aside from how their timbre can alter according to temperature and humidity, their tonality and resonances can change drastically depending on how they are played. It’s a phenomenon that front-of-house engineer Will Donbavand faces on performances by artists like Noah Kahan, with whom he’s just wrapped up a string of EU/UK shows on the artist’s We'll All Be Here Forever Tour.

What Kahan’s fans likely don’t notice is how Donbavand subtly affects the sounds of those instruments as the shows progress, using a series of plugins in a process made much more manageable by the implementation of the Fourier Audio transform.engine. As he did on other recent tours, with Troye Sivan last year and Zayn earlier this year, Donbavand was able to manage sound with a streamlined workflow.

Germany - At the beginning of the year, TSE AG conceived an impressive production design for League of Legends’ EMEA Championship (LEC) Camera Days. The client was Riot Games – TSE’s first joint project with the game developer and esports organiser. The filmed sequences will serve as pre-match inserts in the studio and on the LED walls during the international stream.

For the project, TSE developed a visual concept: a room-filling mirror set, complemented by a dynamic lighting design, specifically tailored to the requirements of variable camera angles. The project was realised in a converted bowling alley in Berlin, and encompassed the entire technical set-up, including lighting, rigging, set construction, video and power. TSE’s inventory included a total of 72 impression X5 Bars and 36 JDC2 IP systems, enabling flexible and efficient projec

The Linear 9 210 LTA is the most powerful top in the series. Engineered for clustered arrays and quick rigging, it features a constant-curvature design for consistent dispersion across the horizontal plane.

UK - Gunnersbury Park in West London provided the setting for a one-off, festival-style event last month as Krankbrother presents Keinemusik drew thousands of electronic dance music fans together for a UK-exclusive extended summer set from Adam Port, &ME, Rampa, Masšh and Muva T.

Ben Mansfield of Tourlite Designs was approached by the promotors last summer to work with them in developing the stage lighting and production design. He chose 48 Ayrton Rivale Profiles and 120 Ayrton Cobra fixtures as the mainstay of his lighting design.

“We’ve used Ayrton products for years and really like the spot fixtures and the colour rendering they produce,” says Mansfield. “But for this project we specifically chose Cobra for its tight beam and Rivale Profile for its versatility, big-faced lens and crisp optics. And since we had no roof to any

USA - First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Georgia was founded around the same time as its namesake city, now a suburb of Atlanta. You don’t last that long without understanding that things change, and that’s reflected in the recent installation at the church of a pair of DiGiCo Quantum consoles. A Quantum852 has replaced the previous DiGiCo SD10 at front of house, while a Quantum338 is now at monitors. Both were purchased through Atlanta-based integrator Clark.

Like it did for many churches, COVID changed everything. First Baptist Jonesboro media & IT director Tom Gobebo points out that the church’s traditional orchestral/organ and choir worship style was expanded in the wake of the pandemic to include electrified instruments, as well as backing and click tracks. Along with more outside concerts and increasingly complex holiday event productions, th

France - The historic courtyard of Lyon’s town hall was transformed into a concert venue to host the recent Bal des Fiertés festival, where APG’s Uniline Max made its debut. The newly launched line array system proved a good fit for an evening of high-impact sound in a challenging acoustic environment.

The event marked one of the first-ever deployments of the Uniline Max by Moov’Event, a France-based event production and rental company led by Felipe Araya, and the first company in Europe to have invested in the new line array series. Working alongside Camille Vidal, a partner of the LGBTQI centre in Lyon as a technical manager for events and live performance, the team was tasked with transforming the ornate courtyard into a professional live entertainment venue quickly and with no compromise on quality.
