Hawthorn's walls at Leadenhall Market

UK - As part of what has already been an exceptionally busy Christmas season, Hawthorn recently transformed Leadenhall Market into a draft free venue for events. The company provided a repeatable temporary solution to close off Leadenhall Market's open ends so it could be used as a venue for a series of parties over the festive season, as part of a joint working arrangement with A Mumford Events. The brief was for temporary 'walls' which could be installed and removed within the hour, so they did not interfere with the market's trade.
Hawthorn's Production Solutions team designed custom PVC panels to act as gable ends, which were made to measure by Hawthorn's in-house drapes department. The gable ends were suspended from the market ceiling by trussing installed by Hawthorn's new specialist in-house rigging department. The PVC gable ends were then clad in black drapes and starcloth to complete the look. Additionally Hawthorn also installed custom-made PVC roof panels to mask off the drafts from the louvered glazed roofing.
Alec Mumford, MD of A Mumford Events, congratulated the Hawthorns team at being able to rig the walls in time to open doors 30 minutes early. He added: "Working with Hawthorn's professional staff provides confidence for all of our other events coming up at the market."
