Lighting&Sound International - Editorial Policy
Lighting&Sound International magazine is published by PLASA Media Ltd, a commercial arm of the Professional Lighting and Sound Association.Since 1985, L&SI magazine has established itself as a leading publication serving the broad range of the professional lighting, audio, staging and audio-visual industry. The magazine covers the use of such equipment and services relating to professional entertainment, presentation, display, communication and architectural installation - or any environment where such equipment and services find an application.
L&SI's aim is to monitor and represent the broad scope of the industry, looking at the cutting-edge use of technology and technical practices, discussing issues which affect business, imparting valuable information on trends and developments and keeping readers up to date with the changing requirements of health and safety, sustainability, technical standards and training.
L&SI operates industry-wide. While it does work to promote the interests of PLASA's 530-strong membership, and the activities and initiatives of the Association itself, it is not positioned as a PLASA member's newsletter or as a service to PLASA members, but as a commercially viable business interest owned by the Association.
L&SI is backed up by an editorial advisory board of respected industry professionals, which feeds back ideas and suggestions for improving the content, direction and circulation of the magazine. Our aim is to continually improve and refine the magazine to ensure that it continues to offer the best coverage of this varied, dynamic and rapidly evolving industry.
PLASA Media aims to produce L&SI with an average of 60% editorial to 40% advertising. Of that editorial content, we aim to offer at least 40% international (non-UK) coverage on average through the calendar year.
